Deputies are searching for the person who shot a woman in the arm at a party early Wednesday in Kanawha County.
The shooting unfolded at about 2:40 a.m. near a gas well off Derricks Creek Road in the Sissonville area. Parties often are held at the same location, according to a news release from the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office.
Initial reports suggested several shooters injured multiple people, the release states. It is now believed only one person was shot.
Emergency responders took the woman to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and deputies arrested one man for an unrelated charge of obstructing an officer.
The office declined to provide names in its release.
