A Kanawha County woman was arrested after allegedly arming herself with a baseball bat and beating someone at a home off W.Va. 2 on Saturday.

State Police took Tammy Pickens, of Charleston, into custody Monday in connection with the weekend attack, according to a criminal complaint filed in Kanawha County Magistrate Court.

Pickens' daughter told investigators the victim, Ronnie Blizzard, was intoxicated and aggressive before the attack, according to the complaint.

The daughter went home and complained to her family about Blizzard, the complaint states. Pickens, 51, allegedly left the home with her son and the bat.

It's possible the brother knocked Blizzard out at the home, according to the complaint. Authorities later found him unconscious with a bloodied head.

Blizzard - confined to a hospital bed - told investigators that Pickens's son began hitting him and that Pickens struck him with the bat, the complaint states.

Troopers arrested Pickens on a charge of malicious wounding. She remained at South Central Regional Jail in lieu of a $25,000 bail Wednesday afternoon.
