South Charleston police still were searching Thursday evening for a 69-year-old man who left his Ivywood Lane home Wednesday.
Steven Sydnor was last seen on the 1300 block of Smith Creek Road near Woody's Garage, and it's believed he walked back toward South Charleston, according to a post on the police department's Facebook page Thursday evening.
Police Sgt. Robert Houck said Sydnor's wife reported that he went for a walk around 4:30 p.m. but never returned. Sydnor reportedly has dementia.
Sydnor is 6 feet tall and about 185 pounds. He was last seen wearing blue shorts, a tan shirt, tennis shoes and a gold watch. He may have taken his shirt off at some point.
Anyone who has seen Sydnor or has other information can call 911 or Kanawha County Metro 911's non-emergency line at 304-348-8111 or, during normal business hours, the police department at 304-744-6903.
