The Kanawha County Commission is closing its temporary debris management site at the Clendenin park and ride. Flood survivors may bring debris to the site until 5 p.m. today, according to a release from the Commission. After that, residents will be required to take remaining debris to an approved landfill.
Also, the Federal Emergency Management Agency will close its three remaining disaster recovery centers in Rainelle, White Sulphur Springs and Clendenin. The centers will close at 5 p.m. on Aug. 31. Residents may still register for FEMA assistance online at DisasterAssistance.gov. Help is still available to residents via a helpline by calling 800-621-3362.
The deadline to register for disaster assistance from FEMA is Sept. 7.
