St. Albans City Council has approved a resolution authorizing Mayor Dick Callaway to execute an agreement with the West Virginia Office of Economic Opportunity to continue an annual grant for the Roark-Sullivan (Twin Cities) shelter at 100 MacCorkle Ave.

Barb Hughes, St. Albans' clerk-treasurer, said the annual grant is about $15,000.

Also during the meeting Monday, council reappointed Neil Richardson to the Downtown Historic District Committee with a term to expire in October 2017 and Robert "Bob" Sutphin Jr. to the Kanawha Valley Regional Transportation Authority with a term to expire in June 2017.

Council also agreed to pay current invoices, which total $6,641.

In other action, council gave final approval to an amendment to the city code allowing breast-feeding in public and to an administrative sub-division of 825 Skinner Drive.

During the public forum, Emily Wall of Grant Street announced there will be a Ward 4 Neighborhood Watch meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Crossings Church on Harrison Avenue. She said the meeting also will include an update on the parking situation around the Moses auto dealership.
