Charleston police have arrested a woman for allegedly stepping onto a Kanawha County school bus and hitting the driver in the face.
Tenicia Walls, of Griffin Drive, reportedly hit bus driver Shelley Ryan "with an open hand in the face" Wednesday after Ryan told her she couldn't be on the bus, according to a criminal complaint. The incident occurred on the 900 block of Walls' street.
Walls was arraigned Friday on a misdemeanor charge of battery on a school employee, which can carry a jail sentence of 10 days to one year and a $100 to $500 fine.
Kanawha Magistrate Kim Aaron set a cash bond of $500. Walls requested a public defender to represent her.
