The Kanawha County Sheriff's Department on Monday identified the man who died in a car crash in Sissonville on Sunday morning.
Chase Burford, 18, of Sissonville, was driving a Jeep Wrangler that went off the side of the road, struck a tree, overturned and then came to rest in a creek, said Sgt. Brian Humphreys. The wreck was reported just before 9 a.m. on Derricks Creek Road.
Burford was ejected from the vehicle. Humphreys said Burford wasn't wearing a seatbelt, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the crash is still being investigated.
