Streets on both sides of the Kanawha River will be closed in Charleston for the Independence Day celebration and fireworks show on Tuesday.
Kanawha Boulevard will be closed between Capitol and Clendenin streets starting at 5:30 p.m.
MacCorkle Avenue will be closed between Porter Road and U.S. 119 from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Eastbound traffic will have access to the South Side Bridge via Thayer and Ferry Street until 9:30 p.m.
At 9:30 p.m. Thayer Street, Ferry Street, Loudon Heights Road and the South Side Bridge will be closed until fireworks have concluded.
The celebration will run from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. at Haddad Riverfront Park. It will include food vendors and music from the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra, which will begin at 8 p.m. Fireworks will begin around 9:40 p.m.
