A father shot and wounded his daughter's recent boyfriend after an argument unfolded Wednesday night, authorities said.
At about 9 p.m., Gilbert Malcomb, 32, arrived to the family's home on Blue Creek Road, according to a news release from the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office. The home is located less than 3 miles from the border of Elkview.
Malcomb's recent girlfriend obtained a domestic violence protective order earlier that day, but law enforcement had yet to serve the documents. Malcomb then feuded with the woman's father at their home, the release states.
The argument ended when the father shot Malcomb in the arm and lower torso with a long gun, according to the release. Malcomb stood upright and spoke to first responders when they arrived.
Paramedics took him to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The Office of the Prosecuting Attorney will decide whether charges should be filed against anyone involved with the shooting.
