State Police arrested a Charleston woman after she allegedly continued to report fake emergencies.
Kassandra Fridley, 28, called 911 nearly a dozen times from about 4:45 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Monday, according to a criminal complaint filed in Kanawha County Magistrate Court.
The ensuing arrest came about seven months after Fridley made approximately 600 calls to emergency services in less than a month, according to a previous complaint.
Last year's calls arrived from several different phone numbers, and Fridley sometimes disguised her voice, according to the complaint.
Fridley is also accused of using aliases such as Michelle, Elizabeth and Sara. Sometimes, the complaint states, she identified herself as a child who needed medical assistance for a family member.
"These false reports ranged from medical emergencies, structure fires, burglaries, stabbings, shootings, hang up calls, and various other incidents," the complaint states.
On Monday, medics arrived to her home on Gap View Drive in response to an apparent overdose, the complaint states. They realized no emergency took place, and a responding trooper then found Fridley walking from Fas-Chek Supermarket to her nearby home.
Her phone was found with its battery removed, and a voice mail greeted dispatchers each time they called, according to the complaint.
Authorities arrested Fridley after they discovered the calls were made from her current home address, along with her previous address on Tumbleweed Lane.
On Wednesday morning, she remained at South Central Regional Jail on charges of false information and falsely reporting an emergency incident. Her bail was set at $5,000 with a separate $250, cash-only bond.
Troopers charged Fridley in October with 10 counts of falsely reporting an emergency, according to a criminal complaint. She was also charged with open dump and false information after authorities responded to a call from her previous address in Tad, where they found "solid waste" scattered throughout the property.
