The Contentment Historical Complex will be conducting tours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays from June through August at the complex located on U.S. 60, Ansted. The Putnam County Chapter, West Virginia Federation of Democratic Women invites all Democrats and Putnam County residents to their annual picnic at noon on June 10 at Valley Park (Wave Pool) Shelter No. 2, Hurricane. Tyler Mountain Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting its annual open house/hot dog and barbecue sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 10 at the Tyler Mountain Community Center. There will be many activities including open house tours of the station and the Kanawha County Emergency Ambulance Authority will be doing a free blood pressure clinic. KC the Robotic Ambulance and The Smoke House, a training facility on what to in case of a fire, will also be at the open house. A silent auction will be held at the community building. Baked goods will be available.
