West Virginia voters can cast their early ballots, starting today, for the state's primary election.
In Kanawha County, the Voter's Registration Office, at 415 Quarrier St., will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays.
County Clerk Vera McCormick reminded candidates and supporters that campaigning is not allowed on county property.
In Putnam County, early voting hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays; 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursdays; and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays.
Residents of other counties should check with their county clerks for early voting times.
Independent voters who aren't affiliated with a political party may request any party's primary ballot - but they must ask.
Early voting continues statewide through Saturday, May 7. The election is May 10.
