Water service was temporarily shut off at Orchard Manor on Tuesday as maintenance crews worked to repair an internal issue.
While initial reports claimed a water line break was responsible for the incident, West Virginia American Water spokeswoman Megan Hannah said it was "not a water line break with us."
An employee with Kanawha-Charleston Housing said its maintenance supervisor, James Armes, said water service would be restored by 1 p.m. The employee did not know the reason for the shutoff.
Armes didn't return a call from the Gazette-Mail.
Water service was restored at about 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, according to Kanawha Metro 911.
