The owners of Kin Ship Goods have announced plans to move their screen printing business to Charleston's West Side.
Dan Davis and Hillary Harrison, the owners of Kin Ship, announced on the company's Facebook page Wednesday that they would be moving from their current location on Lee Street to an undisclosed location on the West Side.
Davis was not available to comment on the announcement Wednesday, but the company's announcement stated that they would remain at their downtown location until later this spring.
According to the announcement, the reason behind the move was rising rental costs at the commercial location they currently occupy.
"We're sad to leave the little shop that we put so much work & care into," Davis wrote, "but we had to look into other options when our current landlord decided to more than double our rent."
At the same time, Davis explained that the move would give the company the ability to expand.
"After such a great year (thanks to you all!) we realized that we need room to grow," Davis wrote.
