A man was stabbed in Rand Tuesday afternoon, police and first responders say.
Kanawha County Metro 911 received the call shortly after 4 p.m.
The caller reported the stabbing after the wounded man drove past him in Rand, according to Sgt. Brian Humphreys of the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office. The caller originally said the victim had driven past and said he'd been shot, but first responders said the man told them he'd been stabbed. First responders also reported the man appeared to have a stab wound in his back.
A Metro 911 dispatcher said one person had been detained as of about 5 p.m. The wounded person was taken to a hospital.
The dispatcher said the initial encounter with the patient happened on McCaw Lane, they received phone call from Raven Drive, and first responders caught up with the patient toward Clemson Avenue.
