A former Capital High student currently on home confinement related to a sexual assault charge from earlier this year was arrested Friday night and charged with two counts of domestic battery, according to Charleston police.

Officers arrested Dallas King, 18, after an alleged incident involving a 17-year-old girl at his home, according to Lt. Steve Cooper, Charleston's chief of detectives. King was arraigned on the misdemeanor charges late Friday in Kanawha Magistrate Court.

King allegedly pushed the mother of his child into a wall at his Greendale Drive home Friday afternoon, causing a knot to form on the left side of her forehead, according to a criminal complaint filed in Kanawha Magistrate Court. The girl told detectives that King became extremely angry and shoved her during an argument.

She said he pushed her again, scratching her neck and chest, then slapped her on the right side of her face.

The girl also described an incident in October, when she said King gave her a black eye, according to the complaint.

King was on home confinement as part of his bond agreement while awaiting trial.

King was charged as a juvenile earlier this year with second-degree sexual assault after allegedly forcing a 15-year-old girl to have sex with him on Jan. 26 inside Capital High School, where he was a student at the time.

In March, King, 17 at the time, agreed to plead guilty to first-degree sexual abuse, a move that would see his case transferred to adult status. But in June, he asked Kanawha Circuit Judge Jennifer Bailey if he could withdraw his plea, claiming that his previous attorneys, Trent Redman and Michael Payne, told him he would only have to register as a sex offender for 10 years - not for life, as the law states.

Bailey granted King's request, throwing out his plea and returning the case to juvenile status where it would be tried under seal.

King, who was represented by Katherine Dooley when he withdrew his plea, now is represented by Dan Holstein, former assistant Kanawha prosecutor.

King is being held at South Central Regional Jail. His bond was set at $50,000 cash.
