Some drivers in the South Hills neighborhood of Charleston will have to find a new way into downtown for the next several weeks.
Loudon Heights Road will be closed from the foot of the South Side Bridge to the intersection with Grosscup Road, city officials announced Monday. The road will be closed at 9 a.m. Tuesday and may remain closed for as long as eight weeks, while workers fix a retaining wall on Loudon Heights, according to the release.
City officials encouraged drivers south of Grosscup Road to seek alternate routes to and from downtown during the construction.
