A Dollar General store that caught on fire in St. Albans last month plans to reopen in September, a city official said.
A fire broke out at the store on Pennsylvania Avenue June 18. At the time, a Kanawha County dispatcher told the Gazette-Mail the fire started after charcoal and lighter fluid caught fire outside of the store. No one was injured.
Mayor Scott James said he spoke with Dollar General officials, who told him the store plans to reopen in late September. James said the store will need repairs to its facade, roof, and the interior of the store near the entrance.
