YWCA accepting 2018 Women of Achievement nominations

By Staff reports

YWCA Charleston is now accepting 2018 Women of Achievement nominations.

Women can be nominated for one or all of the following categories:

n A Woman of Achievement is a woman whose extraordinary work and contributions to the Greater Kanawha Valley make her a role model for our community. Her ethics and principles reflect the YWCA's mission of eliminating racism and empowering women.

n A Woman to Watch is a woman that continues to learn and grow and is recognized by her peers as a "go getter." One you look at and say, "wow, if she's like this now, what can we except of her twenty years from now?"

n An Empowerment nominee is a woman who has been empowered by YWCA Charleston services. These women may have struggled with issues such as abuse, abandonment, and/or homelessness. Their story will reflect how they overcame adversity and became self-sufficient.

Honorees will be announced in August. To be considered, the nomination form must be completed in its entirety and submitted by July 15. For an Honoree Nomination Form, go to ywcacharleston.org, click on "events" and select "Women of Achievement." Mail completed form to Sarah King, YWCA Charleston, 1426 Kanawha Blvd. E., Charleston, WV 25301 or scan and email it to sking@ywcacharleston.org.
