As part of the 2017 Summer Library Club, Kanawha County Public Library presents ScienceTellers at 2 p.m. on Thursday to the Main Library for interactive science and engineering experiments for kids and families. "Building: Tall Ships & Pirate Tales," will include fun stories about quirky pirates on the high seas, combined with the science behind clouds, air pressure, and explosions. CAMC will sponsor the annual "Run For Your Life" event beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday at Haddad Riverfront Park. Hundreds of people will run the 5-mile course or walk 2.5 miles to raise money to support colorectal cancer screening and awareness in our community. The event started in 2004 in honor of Jody Jividen, a Daily Mail staffer, who died from colorectal cancer in 2002. The 2017 chairwoman is Angi Swearingen who was diagnosed with colon cancer last summer. Pre-registered participants can pick up their packets from 3 to 7 p.m. on June 16 in the parking lot of the CAMC Cancer Center, 3414, MacCorkle Ave., SE. St. Albans residents of Ward 2 are invited to attend the Neighborhood Watch Meeting being held at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church located at the corner of Kanawha Terrace and Pennsylvania Avenue. Jason Philabaun is in charge of the meeting and can be reached at 304-767-4874.

The annual meeting of the Charleston-Kanawha Housing Authority Board of Commissioners will be held at 1:30 p.m. June 19 at 1525 Washington St., W.
