The Sacred Heart Co-Cathedral Basilica in Charleston will close its holy doors starting Nov. 29 to prepare for the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy.
The Jubilee lasts a year and was proclaimed by Pope Francis. During this time, people reflect on mercy and calls upon people act merciful toward themselves and others.
The Co-Cathedral will reopen its doors on Dec. 13 to join churches around the world in this special year. The Jubilee, or Holy Year, begins Dec. 8.
