A Charleston man pleaded guilty to a federal drug crime after admitting he sold heroin on the city's West Side.

Albert Bowman, Jr., 40, entered a guilty plea Thursday to a distribution of heroin charge, according to a release from the United States Attorney Carol Casto's office.

Bowman was accused of selling heroin to an informant at his home on Charleston's West Side in July. Officers found cash, drugs and firearms in his home. Bowman admitted to police that he distributed more than 130 grams of heroin prior to the search warrant.

He faces up to 20 years in federal prison when he is sentenced in August.
