Charleston residents who typically have their garbage and recycling picked up on Wednesday can set out "non-traditional" items for collection this Monday, according to city officials.
For residents who've been spring cleaning, special crews will be collecting furniture, appliances and other non-traditional items, according to a statement from Mayor Danny Jones' office.
Crews will not pick up batteries, toxic substances or paint cans.
People who normally have their garbage collected on Thursdays can set out their spring cleaning items on May 15. People on the Friday collection route can set their items out on May 23.
