Police were searching for a suspect after a robbery was reported Thursday night at the CVS pharmacy on Charleston's East End.

A CVS employee reported at 8 p.m. that a man with a gun robbed the pharmacy of prescription pills, according to a Kanawha Metro 911 dispatcher.

No money was taken from the store, located in the Plaza East shopping center near Appalachian Power Park, the dispatcher said.

Charleston police announced they were looking for a white male, possibly wearing a black jacket and driving a red Dodge Dakota pickup.

Last month, after a robbery at the CVS on Oakwood Road, police said they were looking for a man with the same description in the same late-'90s model Dodge Dakota pickup.

That store was robbed by a masked man just before 9 p.m., police said at the time.

In September, the Oakwood Road store was also robbed just after 8:30 p.m. by a white man wearing a mask. Police said the man made off with prescription drugs.

No arrests have been made in any of the robberies.

Charleston Sgt. J.A. Hunt, assistant chief of detectives, said the pharmacy robberies appear to be related.

Anyone with information may contact police at 304-348-6480 or emergency dispatchers at 304-348-8111
