Less than a month after her license was revoked for driving under the influence, a Kanawha County second-grade teacher was arrested again this week for a similar incident.

Police arrested Amanda Freeman, 37, of Marmet, Monday night in St. Albans for driving under the influence and for driving on a revoked license, according to a criminal complaint filed in Kanawha County Magistrate Court.

Freeman's license was revoked at the end of March for a similar incident, according to the complaint.

Briana Warner, a spokeswoman for Kanawha County schools, confirmed that Freeman is a teacher at Kanawha City Elementary School. When asked if the school system knew about Freeman's previous DUI, Warner said she could not comment further.

An officer stopped Freeman late Monday night after noticing her car swerve, cross the center line and brake "erratically" for several blocks, the complaint reads. The officer also noticed Freeman was bouncing around the vehicle and kept leaning over to the passenger side of the vehicle.
