The southbound lanes of Interstate 77 were shut down for about an hour Friday night after a two-vehicle crash near the Greenbrier Street onramp in Charleston.
Kanawha Metro 911 dispatchers said a vehicle was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of Interstate 77 at about 8:52 p.m. and crashed into a vehicle traveling south. Charleston police were diverting traffic off the interstate, past the Capitol and down Kanawha Boulevard. Firefighters and medics were also at the scene.
At 10 p.m., when southbound lanes reopened, a dispatcher said one person had been taken to an area hospital. The extent of the person's injuries wasn't known, the dispatcher said.
