Dunbar voters picked incumbent Mayor Terry Greenlee as the Democratic candidate for mayor in the city's primary election Saturday.

Greenlee received 333 votes, well ahead of Ricky Hicks (75 votes) and Roger Wolfe (67 votes), according to unofficial election results Saturday night.

Wolfe was removed from his position in 2008 and was found by the West Virginia Ethics Commission in 2011 to have violated the Ethics Act for receiving reimbursements without proper authority. In an interview Friday, Wolfe said he is innocent and didn't receive a fair hearing.

With no Republican candidate filing for mayor, Greenlee will run uncontested in the city's general election June 6.

"I think we just need to continue what we're doing," Greenlee said after the results came in.

Greenlee said he wants to continue generating economic development for the city, pointing out the jobs that will come with Ollie's Bargain Outlet soon opening a location there. He also touted the success of the new senior center and said he wants to see more after-school opportunities for children.

Greenlee was elected mayor in 2013. In the past, Greenlee had served as recreation director and public works director for the city.

For City Council 1st Ward, Michael Buckalew received 54 votes, Jimmy Rogers received 53 votes, Ward Harshbarger III received 48 votes and Bryan Hinkle received 13 votes in the Democratic primary.

Among Republicans, Mike Scipio received 52 votes, Steve Arnott received 42 votes, Sierra Sovine received 18 votes and David Crouch received two votes.

For City Council 3rd Ward, Greg Wolfe received 31 votes, Billy Huffman Jr. received 26 votes and Tom Bailey received 25 votes in the Democratic primary. For Republicans, Connie Thompson received 17 votes and April Gardner received 12 votes.

For City Council 4th Ward, Bill Cunningham received 89 votes, Everette Sullivan received 51 votes, Gail Harper received 34 votes and Jim Brown received 27 votes in the Democratic primary.

Among Republicans, James Hughes received 32 votes, Daniel Stapleton received 17 votes and Ian Haye received 12 votes.
